FAQs

Questions from parents.

Can't find what you need? The National Tennis help centre has more answers.

What should my child wear?
Comfortable sports clothing and non-marking trainers with a flat sole. Please avoid running shoes with deep treads.
Do we need our own racket?
Not for a trial or camp. Once your child joins weekly coaching, they will need their own racket in the right size for their stage.
How much does it cost?
Weekly coaching is a monthly Coaching Plan: £48/month for a 60-minute indoor class, £59/month for a 90-minute indoor class and £38/month for a 60-minute outdoor class. There's a one-off £2.50 set-up fee, and a second weekly class is 25% off. Coaching Plan players also get 50% off holiday camps.
How does the Coaching Plan work?
You sign up to a Coaching Plan for weekly classes across 47 weeks of the year. We break for one week at Easter, two weeks in the summer and two weeks at Christmas, and there are no classes on bank holidays. The monthly fee already includes these breaks, so you pay the same amount every month. Full details are in our Coaching Terms.
What happens if a session is rained off?
Most classes are on the indoor courts at War Memorial Park, so rain rarely stops play. If an outdoor class at Stratton Park is rained off, we offer a place in another class where we can. Full details are in our Coaching Terms.
What should my child bring to camp?
A packed lunch, snacks, a refillable water bottle, sports clothing, non-marking trainers, and sun cream or layers depending on the weather.
Can I cancel a camp booking?
Cancellations more than 14 days before the camp starts receive a full account credit. Cancellations within 14 days are non-refundable.
Are your coaches DBS checked?
Yes. Every coach holds an enhanced DBS check and completes safeguarding training in line with LTA standards.
